About
For better or worse, I ended up with a collection of family photographs, stories, newspaper clippings – most from Isabel Gaddis and Florence Maltsberger. Through the years I’ve tried to share them but have never really understood how many of the people who emerged fit into our family tree. Several years ago I began to document what I knew at Ancestry.com, but I hit a lot of dead ends.
Recently, I started back on Ancestry.com and was amazed at how much more information there was. So I’m trying to piece it all together and share as much as possible. You can view the tree here. If you join Ancestry.com you can contribute. If you have information to share, please send it to me and I’ll post it. My email is lee.gaddis@t-3.com.
As I worked on this project I began to uncover all of these interesting stories and connections. So I’m using this site to share as much of that information as possible.
As your read many of the stories remember that the Civil War was very real to our grandparents – their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles lived it. It’s an important perspective to remember how close it was.
Enjoy.
